At the Feb. 16 meeting Councilmember Hemming nominated three candidates for city boards: Napoleon Black (Municipal Utility Advisory Board), R. John Anderson (Downtown Development Authority), and Jeremy Taylor (Ethics Board). Councilmember Martin Rogers later moved to appoint Ernestine Pittman to the Municipal Utility Advisory Board. Each nomination was moved and seconded; the council approved each appointment by voice vote.
Council discussion about the nominees highlighted their experience: Hemming described Mr. Black’s wastewater operations experience, Mr. Anderson’s architecture and development background, and Mr. Taylor’s IT and data‑security experience. Councilmember Martin Rogers’ nomination of Ernestine Pittman followed her public comment earlier in the meeting; that appointment also passed by voice vote.
