Council changes January reorganization meeting time to 5:30 p.m. for 2026

HARRISBURG — Councilwoman Ross moved to amend Resolution 1 of 2024 to change the assembly time for the January reorganization meeting from 12:00 noon to 5:30 p.m. for that meeting only; the council approved the temporary change unanimously.
"I would I move to amend Resolution 1 of 2024 ... by changing the time for the assembly of council to ... 05:30PM for the upcoming reorganization meeting only," Ross said as she made the motion; another member seconded. After brief clarification that the change was temporary, the clerk called the roll and the motion passed 7–0.
During new business council members offered holiday wishes, and one member announced a New Year's Eve event at city facilities with a DJ. Council adjourned at 6:34 p.m.
The resolution amendment applies only to the upcoming reorganization meeting and does not permanently change council rules beyond that single occurrence.
