The Philomath Planning Commission voted unanimously Feb. 17 to elect Timothy Mallock as chair for the coming year and to select Josiah Jesson as vice chair.
The commission began the meeting with a readout of the board’s election procedures, including a two‑round ballot option described in the commission handbook; the city manager led the floor for nominations. Commissioner Josiah Jesson nominated Timothy Mallock for chair; the commission moved to a voice-and-hand vote and the chair announced the election was unanimous. The commission then turned to the vice chair role and confirmed Josiah Jesson.
The commission also approved action minutes from May 13, May 19, June 16 and July 21, 2025 after a motion to adopt the records. Staff noted the city will continue to keep full audio and video recordings as the official record while producing AI‑assisted action minutes for staff efficiency; commissioners were advised to send non‑substantive corrections to the city recorder by email so clerical errors can be fixed before posting.
The chair said the newly elected leadership will serve through December and will coordinate agenda preparation and meeting conduct for the year. No public comments were offered before the votes.
