Student representatives say they will deliver a mental‑health recommendation at next discussion meeting

Student representatives reported at the Feb. 16 meeting that over recent months they collected student opinion and feedback regarding student mental health and are preparing a recommendation for the board. They said they will review the proposal with teachers and administrators and expect to provide a copy to board members at the next discussion meeting.

The student report listed recent student activities (a band spaghetti dinner fundraiser, Daffodil Days flower sale benefitting the American Cancer Society) and noted that student leaders had also held information meetings related to student council elections. The students characterized their mental‑health recommendation as the result of several months of feedback collection and indicated an intention to brief the board and relevant staff before the next formal discussion meeting.

Board members welcomed the forthcoming recommendation and said they looked forward to reviewing it.
