The Village of Lincoln Heights council amended its Sept. 9 agenda to remove three items listed under old business — Resolution 2024-R-67, R-68 and R-69 — after a council member said the items lacked a required third and moved to take them off the agenda. The motion was seconded and passed on roll call with five ayes, allowing the meeting to proceed with the remaining items.
Council members discussed whether any of the removed resolutions required additional readings before final action; members agreed to treat the measures as first readings and to return them for later consideration when staff could confirm section language and attachments. During the exchange, one council member noted that a previous version of R-46 included a section that was missing from the current draft and asked staff to restore the omitted language before a subsequent reading.
The council then approved the agenda as amended and moved on to other business. The roll call for the removal motion recorded affirmative votes by Councilwoman Phyllis Baber, Councilwoman Nona Calhoun Moya, Councilwoman Laverne Mitchell, Vice Mayor Linda Childs Jeter and Mayor Rubikenzie Mumphrey.
