Mayor Ruby Kenzie Monfrie read a proclamation that recognized mental health as part of overall health and declared the village’s support for public education, stigma reduction and local partnerships with NAMI Southwest Ohio.
Curry emphasized practical options for residents seeking help or wanting to organize outreach, noting the national 988 number for immediate crisis support: "You can call that number. You can text that number. It is anonymous." She offered to leave contact cards and recommended NAMI’s connections with local partners such as We Thrive for on-the-ground services.
The proclamation is advisory and does not direct new spending. Council did not take a vote specifically tied to funding during the meeting; the item was ceremonial and focused on raising awareness and directing residents to resources.
