Newark introduces new economic development manager, promoted IT analyst and two dispatchers

The Newark City Council recognized several recent hires and an internal promotion during its presentations segment.
Presiding official introduced Angela Sui to the council as a recent addition in economic development, citing more than 20 years of public-sector economic development experience in Northern California and a bachelor's degree from the University of California. The presiding official said Sui has worked in cities including Walnut Creek and Cupertino.
The council also announced that Narayan Krishman was recently promoted to senior IT analyst. The presentation noted Krishman's computer-science degree and prior work at Hewlett Packard Labs and local education offices, as well as contributions to improving the city's data network.
Two new public-safety dispatchers were welcomed: Missy Gallardo (hired 01/30/2024), a Newark native and graduate of Newark Memorial High School who completed the Newark Police Department Citizens Police Academy, and Erica de Guzman Quintero (hired 08/05/2024), who previously worked in San Leandro's building division and studied at Laney and Chabot Colleges.
The presiding official asked the audience to join in welcoming the new staff and praised the quality and experience of recent hires.
