"Mister Steinberg brings a unique combination of skills, knowledge, connections, and experience to this role," Murray said, citing his time as president and CEO of the Rhode Island Foundation, prior development work at Brown University, and several decades in banking.
Senator Coleman rose to second the nomination and welcomed Steinberg to the chamber. After a brief period for additional discussion, the clerk unlocked the voting machine and the Senate recorded the unanimous affirmative tally.
The appointment was transmitted by the governor and referred to the Senate's Committee on Finance before the confirmation vote. Steinberg's term as chair is listed in the appointment notice as expiring 01/01/2028.
The confirmation concludes the Senate's consideration of that nomination for the day; the body returned to announcements and introductions after the vote.
