Public hearings on two rezonings and annexation close with no public comment

The Gallatin City Council opened and closed three public hearings on Feb. 17 with no speakers in attendance.
Councilman Steven Carter opened the hearing on Ordinance O2601-2, rezoning roughly 1.93 acres at 225 East Main Street from CS (Commercial Services) to CC (Core Commercial). No members of the public came forward; the hearing was closed.
Councilman Carter then opened the hearing on Ordinance O2601-3, rezoning six lots (35–40) in Clearview Heights from R-10 (medium-density residential) to R-6 (high-density residential); again, no comments were made and the hearing was closed.
Councilman Jones opened public hearings for Resolution R2601-5 (adopting a plan of services) and R2601-6 (annexation) for a 3.56-acre parcel north of East Broadway and east of Dobbins Pike. Both hearings were opened and, with no speakers, closed on the record.
No decisions were recorded during the hearings beyond closing the public-comment period; subsequent votes or readings on the ordinances and resolutions occurred later in the meeting or at future meetings.
