Board backs contracts and internal promotions; new director role recommended

Summary
Trustees recommended three-year contracts for two building administrators, approved multiple personnel consents and heard a recommendation to create a director of school performance and promote internal leaders to fill that role and the middle-school principalship.
The board reviewed and approved multiple consent items that included three-year contract recommendations for building leaders, personnel changes, and a recommended administrative reorganization.
Board members described strong community and staff support for Richfield Elementary leaders Mr. Pavlovich and Mrs. Smith and recommended offering both three-year contracts after observing their instructional leadership. Trustees also recommended a new director of school performance role — a consolidation of two earlier central-office positions — and proposed promoting Dr. Oberhauser from middle-school principal to the director role and elevating Mr. Petchey to Revere Middle School principal.
Administrators said the director position will focus on teacher clarity, high-yield instructional strategies and data-driven practice across buildings. The board discussed succession planning, internal capacity and the desire to promote leaders familiar with district initiatives. Trustees praised the approach of "growing leaders" from within the district.
Multiple consent items (resignations, retirements, hires, change-of-position requests, MOUs for CCP courses and athletic association membership) were taken as consent agenda items and approved by voice/roll call where recorded. No contested personnel actions were reported.
Board members also noted there is no plan to add an assistant superintendent; the district intends to operate with the revised director-level structure.
