Marty, speaking for the local paper, presented a holiday marketing package and asked the Crossroads Taxing District to contribute $500 toward two advertising dates while participating businesses would pay $1.55 each to be included. He said the insert can carry up to eight participants and pointed to the paper’s audited metrics, which the presenter said show a high deliverability rate and that roughly 75% of recipients report making purchases based on advertising.
District members asked procedural and logistical questions about creative review, timing and how the package would coordinate with the citywide advertising planned through the Business Development Commission. Marty said the paper would supply a flyer and handle creative work but welcomed input and offered to meet individually with business owners to tailor messaging and materials.
The presentation did not include a formal district vote. The chair and members agreed to consider the request alongside other advertising options at the March Business Development Commission meeting and during final budget planning. Marty offered to follow up with businesses and with district staff to answer questions and refine a final cost allocation if the district elects to participate.
