Barnegat board approves hires, interim curriculum director and settlement tied to employee #30897441

The Barnegat Township Board of Education approved a slate of personnel actions following its executive session, including several hires, an interim curriculum appointment and a settlement involving a district employee.

On personnel approvals, the board voted to hire Bria Meneo as an English teacher at Brackman Middle School effective March 25, 2026, through June 30, 2026, at a salary listed in the motion as $61,000.01 (Step 1 BA). The board also approved a six-period stipend for Mr. Palmieri, a technology teacher at Carnegie High School, to assist with the "year above" class.

The board appointed Helen Payne as interim director of curriculum and district data coordinator at a per diem rate of $600 a day beginning an estimated March 1, 2026, through July 2026.

Returning from executive session, the board moved to approve a settlement agreement referenced in executive session involving employee number 30897441, to reinstate that employee effective Feb. 17 and to accept that employee’s resignation effective Feb. 17. The motion passed by roll call with one recorded 'No' from Miss Tarnowski; all other listed board members voted 'Yes.'
