The Washington County Commissioners Court unanimously approved several routine personnel, land-use and budget items during its Feb. 17 session.
The court approved the appointment of Justin Shiller as a reserve deputy constable with Precinct 3. County staff said Shiller has more than 12 years of law-enforcement experience. "This is a community that raised me, and so I'd like to do what I can to volunteer to help this community," Justin Shiller said during the meeting.
On land use, the court approved a replat for Bluebonnet Ridge (David Lawrence survey, Precinct 2). County staff said the proposed lot-line adjustment would change Lot 15 from about 4.942 acres to about 3.524 acres and increase Lot 17 from about 5.38 acres to about 6.798 acres; staff said public notice requirements were met. The court also approved the final plat for Oak Creek Estates (William Pryor survey, Precinct 4), a six-lot subdivision on Green Vine Road with average lot sizes near 3 acres (minimum 1.834 acres, maximum 4.236 acres).
The court authorized using contingency funds to cover repairs to a WCIT shop truck. County staff described a two-phase approach (an initial $3,300 phase to protect tires and a broader front-end replacement bringing total costs to roughly $5,380–$5,400) and said the auditor recommended using contingency. The commissioners approved a matching budget amendment to move $5,380 from contingency into the IT vehicle-repairs line item.
Accountspayable for the month, presented by Miss Kramer, totaled $599,388.37; the court approved payment. Commissioners also approved the purchase of Comms Coach pre-hire testing software for the communications department at a reported discounted cost of roughly $3,500.
There were no recorded roll-call tallies in the public transcript; motions were made, seconded and passed by voice vote on each item. The court adjourned following approval of the final items on the agenda.
No controversial or contested items requiring further study or votes were recorded in the transcript.
