Federal lobbying firm Van Scribe Associates introduces Washington representation to Montgomery City Council

Rodney Emery, vice president of Van Scribe Associates, and colleague Carlisle Clark told the Montgomery City Council they will serve as the city’s federal representation in Washington, D.C.
Emery said the firm will work with the Alabama congressional delegation on appropriations and grant opportunities and asked the council to consider the firm as “your satellite office in Washington, DC.” He said Congressman Shomari Figures would be present the following day to discuss two earmarks the congressman secured and noted the firm had helped on a tech-hub earmark of about $1,600,000.
Carlisle Clark added that the firm’s client list includes the University of Alabama system and the Alabama State Port Authority and described experience on Senate appropriations staff. Both presenters said their work would include guidance on infrastructure, public safety and hospital-service related priorities and invited council direction on the city’s federal priorities.
The presentation was introductory; no formal action was taken. Council members thanked the presenters and asked if there were any questions before moving to the consent agenda.
