Washington County nearing completion of UWM campus buyout; sale to Faith Ridge close to finalization

Washington County officials told the executive committee they have reached agreement with the city on the county buyout of the city’s share of the UW‑Washington County campus and expect to finalize deeds and payment within days.

County presenter reported that "the agreement for the county to buy out the city's portion of the campus was signed today by Chairman Schleif," and that the agreement is now with the city administrator for signature. The certified survey map was signed and returned to the city, and easement documents are being prepared for recording. The presenter said staff expects deeds to transfer the property and payment to be completed "by Monday, Tuesday next week," and that a closing date will be scheduled once paperwork is finished.

On a related transaction, the county’s proposed sale of the property to Ozaukee Christian School, which the presenter said is now known as Faith Ridge, is also close to completion. The school's attorney returned only minor edits to the county’s contract; staff reviewed and sent a revised version back. The county representative told the committee those were "very, very minor tweaks," and that the sale appeared to be near finalization.

Committee members responded positively to the update and asked no substantive changes; a follow‑up schedule will be set as documents record and a closing date is scheduled.

Next steps: staff will record easements, complete deeds, and schedule the closing once final city signatures and recording are complete.
