Mobile City Council approves appointment, purchase orders and multiple consent resolutions

The Mobile City Council approved a bundle of consent resolutions and purchase orders during its Feb. 18 meeting, appointed a board member to the History Museum of Mobile and awarded a special bonus to the city's firefighter of the month.

At the meeting, the council approved the Feb. 10 minutes and moved to waive the rules to consider a set of consent resolutions immediately. Among the items approved were Resolution 03174 appointing Quincy Curley to the History Museum of Mobile board and a resolution awarding a special bonus to the firefighter of the month. Council also approved purchase orders including procurement actions for forensic and mapping software and infrastructure contracts; the clerk read multiple purchase-order approvals into the record and members voted 'Aye.'

The council laid over Resolution 1158, which would authorize an agreement with OVG Parking to operate and manage the Claiborne Street garage, for one week after a motion to lay it over and a second.

Other approved consent items included authorizations for industrial-development access road construction at the Mobile Airport Authority North Campus, intergovernmental audiovisual-maintenance agreements for municipal courtrooms, and purchase orders for storm-drainage and debris removal services, among others. Council moved to waive rules for immediate consideration of many of the resolutions; those motions were seconded and approved.
