Lebanon proclaims Feb. 17 ‘Jaden Bailey Day’ to honor local student-athlete

Mayor Rick Bell read the proclamation describing Jaden as a 17-year-old junior and forward for Lehi High School’s Blue Devils who was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in 2022, underwent significant treatment and an arm amputation, and continued to be an inspiration to others. Coach Jim McDowell and several teammates were invited forward; the proclamation and personal remarks emphasized the family’s local ties and community support.
The council presented a small care package and words of encouragement. Several councilors publicly congratulated and thanked Jaden, his family and his coaches for their example to the community.
