Representatives from benefits broker NFP presented to the Marshall County Commissioners on Feb. 16 about their municipal benefit services, emphasizing three core areas: strategy and cost containment, client service and communications/education.
Chad Miller, vice president at NFP, said the firm would use an agent-of-record process to onboard carriers and emphasized "no member disruption" during transition phases. Brandon Collins described a care-line that would handle employee claims and questions and said the team guarantees acknowledgement within 24 hours and closed 86% of cases within a day last year. "Our goal is no member disruption," Chad Miller said.
Commissioners asked technical questions about integration and administrative relief for the auditor’s office and HR. Staff and commissioners agreed to schedule a private meeting with HR and the auditor so technical details and proprietary information can be discussed outside the public meeting before the county considers any change in its vendor or plan design.
No action was taken at the meeting; commissioners directed staff to arrange follow-up conversations.
