The proclamation credited Chief Tormey with a long record of service, training and leadership and recognized the impact he had on the department and community. Councilmembers and attendees suggested presenting a key to the city at his retirement reception; staff later confirmed the reception will be at the community center with presentations starting at 3 p.m.
The council and staff thanked Chief Tormey and noted the city will hold a reception for him on the date named in the proclamation.
