Dunn County Approves Final Payment to Bechtel, Opens Multiple Road Bids

Dunn County commissioners approved a final pay estimate to a paving contractor and accepted multiple bids for upcoming road projects.
Consultant Jeremy presented pay estimate No. 7 for the Dunn Center area paving project, listing the remaining retainage payment as $9,446.53 and recommending payment to Bechtel Paving. "The amount is $9,446.53, which I would recommend payment to Bechtel paving for that project," Jeremy said. Commissioner Heizer moved to pay the amount and Commissioner Pelton seconded; the board approved the payment by roll call.
Separately, the county opened sealed bids for several road projects, including 103rd Avenue. Bids were presented from multiple contractors and staff asked the road department to tabulate and report results at a future meeting. Commissioners also opened two gravel/crushing bids (Canopic Pit Management and Fisher Sand and Gravel) and voted to accept the scoria/gravel bids for the road department to finalize the tabulation and return with award recommendations.
Staff noted engineer estimates and tentative bid schedules: the 100th & 3rd project is estimated around $1.5 million, and another project (100 & 14th) could open in April subject to easements and funding.
