Board approves multiple JFS agreements for schools, hospitals and workforce partners

James Repp presented six Job & Family Services items. Item 10 authorizes an agreement with Toledo Public Schools to provide services for expectant and parenting students (effective Oct. 1 through Sept. 30, 2026) with a not‑to‑exceed amount of $136,800. Items 11 and 12 are revenue‑generating agreements assigning LCJFS staff to assist with eligibility determination: the Board of Developmental Disabilities agreement not to exceed $51,842, and ProMedica (Toledo Hospital and Children's Hospital) not to exceed $86,402 for calendar-year 2026 staffing.
Item 13 is an MOU with Harbor to implement the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS) comprehensive case management and employment program (CCMEP) for youth ages 16–24; Item 14 is an MOU with the Greater Toledo Newcomer Center to assist refugees with employment and self‑sufficiency services; Item 15 is an MOU with Ohio GuideStone to provide a primary point of contact at JFS for Medicaid eligibility assistance.
A commissioner said they would abstain on item 10; the board proceeded with motions and approved item 10 and then approved items 11–15 in a single motion by roll call. The agreements are slated for service delivery in 2026 where noted.
