Board members voted to approve curriculum and career center items 1–10, special education and English language items 11–14, security items 15–20, nutrition and transportation items 21–24, technology items 25–32, facilities and capital projects items 33–37, student activities items 38–39, finance items 40–60, superintendent/schools items 62–67, personnel items 68–89, items 90–105 (excluding items 99, 100 and 104 which were removed from the agenda), and items 106–112. Motions were made and seconded for each grouped block and were approved by voice vote (recorded as "Ayes have it").
During the finance discussion, a board member questioned two paper purchases: one order for 840 cases priced at about $26,000 and a second for 840 cases priced at about $32,000. District staff explained the lower-bid order (item 56) will not be delivered until February, and an interim purchase (item 57) was necessary to meet immediate needs; the interim order is expected next week. The board accepted that explanation and approved the finance block.
On a related accounting note, an administrator thanked staff members LaManna and Horwath for work on the district's Annual Financial Report, which has grown to about 650 pages after the Pennsylvania Department of Education changed reporting to school-level accounting this year.
The bills were approved under item 61 following a motion to pay. All routine grouped approvals were recorded as passed by voice votes without recorded roll-call tallies in the transcript.
