Finance Director Heather Wood told commissioners that a $20,000 grant from the North Carolina Department of Military and Veteran Affairs will support veteran services (advertising, office supplies and training) through August. The board also approved an ordinance amendment for $2,417 to close out storm damage at the Central Garage building and a $445,199 appropriation for airport AWOS critical-area clearing; Wood said the AWOS project is largely grant-funded with a small local match. The board also acknowledged a $25,706.31 reduction change order on the airport project that brings the project under budget.
Commissioners approved the package by motion and voice vote. Finance staff will update project budgets and track grant deadlines and match obligations.
