The Columbus County Board of Commissioners voted Feb. 20 to approve an administrative services contract with McAdams & Associates LLC for the Southeast Regional Park project, authorizing $62,500 in contract services.
Economic Development Director Dylan Bullen told commissioners the fee is covered by a grant the county received and will not be borne by local taxpayers; the services will support financial reporting and grant drawdowns for a reimbursable grant.
Commissioner questions focused on procurement and timing. Bullen said the project is still in design and permitting and that competitive bids for construction will follow once design and permitting are complete. The board approved the contract by motion and voice vote.
The action directs staff to manage the contract through grant reporting and to proceed with design and permitting steps prior to solicitation of construction bids.
