A Cuyahoga County juvenile-justice subcommittee voted to approve a final report of findings and recommendations and will forward the document to county council with minor amendments to be added after the meeting.
The committee chair moved to approve the final report for delivery to County Council "with the caveat that there will be some minor amendments which will be adopted after we conclude this meeting," and Speaker 6 moved the motion; Speaker 4 seconded. After the chair called for voices in favor, Speaker 5 said "Aye," and the chair declared the motion carried.
The report consolidates recommendations across prevention, probation staffing, continuum-of-care planning, facility improvements and system accountability. Members agreed the executive summary will list recommendation titles while detailed action steps and appendices with source materials and links will appear later in the report.
The committee directed staff to finalize a limited set of amendments and to deliver the report to the chair of public safety, Councilman Gallagher, and the council president. The subcommittee set an internal deadline for completing edits by the end of the month and expected follow-up invitations from council leadership for presentation or next steps.
Meeting participants thanked staff and each other for their work; the chair closed by thanking the group and confirming the report would be forwarded to county leadership.
