Committee forwards $10,000 ARPA grant for Cleveland Heights Tigers youth sports

Timothy Gorham and Giles Foster, co‑directors of the association, described a program that has grown from roughly 40 youth to about 160 football players and about 75 cheerleaders, and cited partnerships with schools, after‑school tutoring and behavioral‑health providers.
Gorham said their coaching staff focuses on academics and positive community visibility; he listed neighborhood cleanups, a first‑responders vs. community game and partnership with area schools. Committee members thanked the presenters and expressed support; the motion to refer the resolution for second reading carried by voice vote.
The resolution will appear on the council calendar for July 22 for further consideration.
