Representatives from Verigee and Mid State Contractors presented to the commissioners Feb. 3 about their proposal for the Lawrence County Courthouse dome restoration RFP.
Brian Gifford, who said he represents Verigee, and Doug Hooper (Mid State Contractors) emphasized demonstrated experience on dome and historic façade restorations, arguing that experience reduces risk and delivers better cost certainty on complex historic projects. Gifford said the team is 100% Ohio-based, cited a recent local project completion for Rock Hill Schools and encouraged commissioners to contact the Rock Hill Schools treasurer listed as a reference in their package.
The presenters asked for an opportunity to sit down with county staff to answer questions about their December proposal and left a proposal packet with County Administrator Dylan Bentley.
Commissioners acknowledged receipt of the package and thanked the presenters for staying within the five-minute time guideline for presentations.
