Lynchburg council approves polling-place move for Precinct 401

Lynchburg City Council voted to change the polling place for Precinct 401 from Saint Thomas More Catholic Church to All People's Church after the city's electoral board and the general registrar reported the previous host was no longer available on required election days.
Dan Pence, the city's general registrar, told council the electoral board voted to move the site and public notice was posted. Pence said the change is intended to be indefinite and expected to be used for the next scheduled election should it proceed.
Council members and staff thanked Saint Thomas More for years of service and expressed appreciation to All People's Church for stepping in to host future elections.
The council closed the public hearing on the precinct change and approved the registrar's recommendation.
