The Clinton County drainage board voted to award the Brush Creek brush‑clearing contract to Extreme Excavating for $92,860.
County staff reported the contractor assigned to the project experienced delays. An unidentified contractor (S6) explained he was involved in a November crash and then faced rental equipment failures and supply delays; he apologized for the schedule slip and said he expected to be able to complete his portion by March. "I'm confident I can have it done by the March," the contractor said.
Board members expressed concern about weather and planting‑season deadlines and discussed reallocating the work so the project would be completed on schedule. After discussion about timelines and bids, the board moved and approved a motion to accept the other bid and proceed with Extreme Excavating; the motion carried by a recorded vote of 3-0.
County staff said the work at Potato Creek and related sites was nearing completion, and that Brush Creek would be prioritized in spring draws and scheduling to reduce the risk of a long delay.
