Earlier in the meeting the chair opened bids for the Kepner and McCarty Lane project. One bid from Hawk Enterprises was read aloud for $209,994; the chair asked for a motion to take that bid under advisement and the board approved that procedural step.
During the claims discussion a board member asked about a Lafayette Hardware credit entry listed as a duplex nail kit for 'special ops'; Deal explained the item is for the fire department—a power nailer used in training and structure-building exercises.
The claims payment and surplus declaration were approved by voice vote; the bid for Kepner and McCarty Lane was taken under advisement for later action.
