Lafayette City approved a $1,926,769.15 contract with Midwest Paving LLC for the Creasy Lane Community Crossings matching grant project and authorized an immediate notice to proceed, city Engineer Jeremy Grinder said.
Grinder told the board the low bid from Midwest Paving was complete, responsive and below the engineer’s estimate. “Our first 3 items are related to the Creasy Lane Community Crossings matching grant project,” Grinder said, and he recommended the notice of award to Midwest Paving. The board moved, seconded and approved the award and the contract.
Grinder said there were four bids for the project with a spread of about $160,000 between the lowest and highest offers. The contract sets a completion period that the board discussed as being roughly in August. The board also approved a separate notice to proceed that Grinder said would be effective immediately.
No individual roll-call tallies were entered in the transcript; motions were moved and seconded and carried by voice vote.
The contract covers work under the Creasy Lane Community Crossings matching grant; city staff reported the bid was responsive to solicitation requirements and recommended awarding to the low, responsive bidder. The project schedule and final construction timeline will be set by contract administration and the city’s engineering office.
