Rosemount — The City Council recognized new and recently certified public-safety personnel during the Feb. 17 meeting.
Chief (unnamed) introduced Officer Chloe VanBink, noted her Rosemount roots and training (associate degree in criminology from Inver Hills Community College, community service officer start in Nov. 2023, law-enforcement certification in 2025 and completion of field training with a solo assignment in July 2025) and invited the city clerk to administer the oath.
The council and the chief also hosted a badge-pinning ceremony for seven firefighters. The fire chief introduced each firefighter and a short biography: AJ Larson (joined in 2020; Navy veteran), Travis Bolt (fire administration degree), Ryan Meltrud (recipient of the 2025 rookie-of-the-year award), Rob McManus (career history including time overseas), Steve Nighouse (paramedic student), Alex Wittick (truck driver and recent father) and Chase Hawkins (Marine Corps veteran). Family members pinned badges for each honoree.
The council paused briefly to transition between the police oath and the firefighter recognition. The mayor and others offered congratulations and thanks to family members in attendance. No formal council action was required for the ceremonial items.
