The Saint Charles City Council on Feb. 17 unanimously approved the appointment of Corey Jones to the city’s Planning Commission.
The presiding official introduced Jones as a lifelong community resident with more than 23 years of experience in residential real estate and as founder of the Corey Jones Team in Saint Charles. “Corey is a great human being and a great person to be on this commission,” an unnamed council member said during the meeting.
Council members noted Jones’s background in residential development and new construction and that he has helped guide more than 1,200 real estate transactions. The council moved to approve the appointment, a motion was seconded and a roll-call vote recorded unanimous approval.
Jones was asked to stand during the meeting and was welcomed by the council. No conditions or dissent were recorded. The council did not set an effective date in the discussion; standard appointment procedures and term details were not specified in the public remarks.
The council immediately moved on to other agenda business after the vote.
