South Ogden reports $36.7 million in grant expenditures for fiscal 2025, including $18.4 million in ARPA funds

Corley Jensen presented the city's fiscal year 2025 grants report at the Feb. 17 work session, saying the city had 88 active grants and expended $36,700,000 in grant funds during the year.
Jensen provided a brief breakdown: about $10,000,000 of the expenditures came through the state of Utah and roughly $18,400,000 came from the U.S. Department of the Treasury as ARPA funds. She attributed the increase in grants and expenditures in part to positions the city approved in recent years to support grant writing in police, fire and public-services functions; Jensen said the city's total grants increased from 49 a decade ago to 88 this year.
The detailed grant list and award descriptions were attached to the council packet for members to review. Council members had no substantive questions during the brief presentation.
Jensen said the grant report is intended to give council a snapshot of funding sources and to show the results of the city's investment in grant-writing capacity.
