Wicomico County Council approves series of routine resolutions, appointments

The Wicomico County Council on Feb. 17 approved a series of routine resolutions and appointments, all recorded as unanimous votes, covering airport agreements, grant acceptances, sole-source vendor authorizations and committee confirmations.
The council adopted Resolution 36-2026, authorizing a supplemental agreement and memorandum of agreement with the U.S. Department of Transportation and the Federal Aviation Administration to allow FAA navigation, communications and weather facilities and related rights-of-way at the county airport; Tony Rudy, director of aviation, was present for questions. The measure was introduced at a public hearing and carried without objection.
Council also approved Resolution 37-2026 to accept two small grants from the Maryland Sports Commission (about $3,300 and $3,321) for local youth and amateur sports events; Resolution 38-2026 to accept $70,159.66 from the Administrative Office of the Courts for court facility goods and services; and Resolution 45-2026, a multi-year contract with Wilmington Trust NA for banking, purchasing-card and investment services for the Department of Finance.
The body authorized two sole-source procurements recorded as Resolutions 39-2026 and 40-2026: an Absolute Security Group sole-source monitoring and maintenance contract for circuit-court cameras and access-control systems, and Johnson Controls Fire Protection LP as a sole source for fire-panel installation and service at the new Community Corrections Building. Staff noted those items required supermajority votes; the council recorded passage.
Appointments and confirmations included three members to the Water and Sewer Technical Advisory Committee (Resolutions 10, 11 and 12-2026), and confirmations and reappointments to the audit committee (Resolutions 41–44-2026). Each motion was moved, seconded and approved by voice vote.
The measures were presented by the appropriate staff liaisons and county administrators, and council members offered no substantive objections during floor votes. The council recorded each vote as "aye" and entered the actions into the minutes as carried.
