Erso urged colleagues to support the bill as an investment in health care as more women turn to IVF.
Supporters emphasized the clinical benefit of PGD and the emotional relief it can provide to prospective parents. The clerk recorded the roll call as 32 votes in the affirmative and 2 in the negative; the act passed.
