Board previews agenda items for Jan. 21 vote, including tax and personnel actions

Finance: Finance chair Mr. Weniger said seven finance items will come before the board, among them the certificate of unpaid 2025 taxes, the 2024 delinquent tax list, appointment of delinquent tax collectors, the preparation of 2026 real‑estate tax bills, the accounts‑payable list, student expenditures for Nov. 2025, and an expenditure reimbursement declaration (related to the debt/reimbursement discussion earlier in the meeting). Two information‑only items were a February forecast and the ending cash balances as of Dec. 31, 2025.
Human resources and student services: Dr. Gibbs previewed eight HR action items (resignations/retirements, appointments, wage/status changes, leaves, tuition reimbursement, supplemental contracts, and a confidential settlement agreement and release). Student services (Ms. Blackburn) said an agreement with the intermediate unit will be a board vote next week and noted a student‑teaching request for special education as information only.
Superintendent items: Dr. Hyland listed six items for board vote this month including professional development approvals and second readings of several policies; the board also received multiple first reads of proposed policy changes.
No public comment was taken and no votes were recorded on the Jan. 7 presentation items; the board adjourned after the previews.
What’s next: the board’s regular voting meeting on Jan. 21 will include many of these items for formal action, and several finance items will rely on documentation discussed earlier (audited statements, reimbursement declaration).
