Students from Faust Elementary presented a "Holidays Around the World" unit at the Bensalem Township School Board meeting, describing traditions and how families celebrate across cultures.
Elizabeth Daley, an ELD teacher, said the project was differentiated by grade and language level: kindergarten through second grade made holiday booklets and engaged in songs and read-alouds, grades 3–4 completed guided research and graphic organizers, and grades 5–6 worked in small groups on independent research. Daley said the project supports the district’s MyView curriculum and the ELD department’s speaking-and-writing initiative.
Students briefly described Diwali, Kwanzaa, posadas, Ramadan/Eid and Hanukkah and closed the presentation with a district-themed key chain created by a computer class. Board members praised the presentation and thanked students and teachers for sharing their work.
