"These vehicles are fully electric, 0 emission buses that will replace existing gas powered buses to reduce air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions," Cassellius said.

Director Zombor moved approval of the administration’s recommendation to waive the policy and authorize the contracts; the roll call recorded four ayes and the motion passed 4–0. Administration said the waivers are tied to grant funding; specific contract values were not specified in the spoken record.
