Plano — The Plano Planning and Zoning Commission voted 8–0 on Feb. 16 to approve a preliminary replat for the Mustang Square residential development, a staff-recommended action that will permit the creation of new single-family lots in the existing subdivision.
Destiny Woods, a planner with the planning department, told commissioners the applicant, Perfect Dream Homes LLC, is proposing “15 new single family detached lots” for Blocks B and F within the larger Mustang Square project and that the new lots will connect to a street serving Block G. Woods said the original approval had been revised to exclude lots that fell within the floodplain and that the applicant reverted to a layout similar to an earlier proposal after floodplain boundaries changed. Woods also said notice letters were sent and that staff received one unofficial email that had been shared with commissioners. Staff recommended approval “subject to additions and alterations to the engineering plans as required by the engineering department.”
The presiding officer opened the public hearing and reported there were no registered speakers. Commissioner Bronski moved to approve the item “as submitted by staff.” Commissioner Bender seconded; the motion passed 8–0. The presiding officer announced the motion passed and staff will require the engineering plan updates noted in the staff recommendation before final administrative processing.
The vote follows staff advice that the proposal complies with applicable city development regulations for administrative consideration, with the condition that engineering corrections be completed. With no public testimony and the unanimous vote, the project proceeds subject to the engineering department’s follow-up work.
