Great Valley High student representatives report on Desmond Project, mock trial and cultural events

The student described the Desmond Project, a partnership with the Desmond Hotel that places students in hospitality‑industry roles (marketing, sales, accounting and management) and gives them event‑planning experience such as running the Senior Citizens Luncheon and preparing the Student Achievers Banquet.
The student also highlighted the World Language Soccer Tournament—which brings together students studying Spanish, Latin, German, French and English‑language learners in a gym‑based competition with strong community support—and reported the mock‑trial team’s performance at the University of Pennsylvania’s Ben Franklin Invitational, where the team posted a 7‑0‑1 record and finished third in a division of about 30 schools. The yearbook class, led by two senior editors and section editors, was noted for hands‑on experience with Adobe and Photoshop and for meeting regular production deadlines.
The student previewed an upcoming cultural celebration with a monthly theme and a cultural fair showcasing clubs, plus ongoing preparations for Mr. Great Valley. "It's a great club for students who are in business and they want to pursue business interests in the future," the student said of the Desmond Project.
