The Mifflin County School District board approved a slate of routine consent items and personnel actions and tabled a separate, contested motion to open the varsity head girls soccer coach position.
On the consent agenda, the board approved routine personnel and transportation updates. The board reaffirmed PSBA’s principles for governance and leadership under Policy 11 and approved an MOU between the Association of Mifflin County Educators and the district providing additional per diem days for school psychologists.
The board also approved Midland County High School’s indoor winds and color guard travel to the Atlantic Coast Region Championship Series show on April 26, 2026, in Belfant, PA. The board confirmed Casey Swineford as a volunteer wrestling coach for the winter 2025–2026 season, amending the effective start date to Jan. 23, 2026, and approved John Baker as a volunteer softball coach for spring 2026.
Separately, after extended public testimony and board discussion, a motion to open and post the varsity head girls soccer coach position was tabled; the board directed athletic staff to hold listening sessions with players and parents and to report back on Feb. 19. No hiring or posting action occurred Monday.
