Subcommittee backs amendment to HB342 to broaden forestry licensure qualifications

Patrick, a staff member who walked the committee through the sponsor’s changes, said the amendments "maintain some more flexibility for the State Board of Foresters" and reflect department testimony. Committee members asked staff to confirm the department had reviewed the amendments before finalizing votes.

Delegate Holmes moved adoption of the amendments; the motion was seconded and members signaled assent by saying “aye.” The chair then moved the bill as amended; after no opposition was raised, the subcommittee moved HB342 favorably to the full committee by voice vote.
