Organizers of the ITS World Congress presented industry awards recognizing deployments and research that advance safety and connected mobility.
Beep received an industry award; a company representative identified as Joe accepted the accolade and described Beep’s autonomous electric shuttle services, including operations in Yellowstone National Park and a community deployment in Orlando that runs seven days a week and connects medical centers, academic institutions and on-demand services. Joe highlighted partnerships with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Florida DOT, the city of Orlando, Orange County and the LYNX transit operator.
AC Yamamoto of ITS Pacific announced Lexus Australia as the Asia-Pacific Hall of Fame award winner for connected-vehicle trials in Queensland, and an ITS Europe representative named Asfinaq (Austria) for its Vision 2030 work on cooperative ITS projects.
Awardees and presenters emphasized public–private partnerships and cross-sector collaboration as essential to scaling safety- and environment-focused deployments.
The ceremony underscored industry momentum for demonstration projects, while awardees warned that scaling will require continued collaboration with local authorities and adherence to safety and privacy standards.
