The Magna Community Reinvestment Agency on July 8 approved Resolution R2025‑04 to transfer two parcels to Magna City so they can be conjoined as a single park. The board authorized quick‑claim deeds and gave the board director authority to sign the conveyance so the documents can be recorded this week.
The resolution was introduced during Item 4b by S3 and explained by David Rickey, who said Salt Lake County had sent the properties to the CRA instead of the city. "We had anticipated Salt Lake County sending the 2 properties that are listed in Resolution 2025‑04 to the city. Unfortunately, they were sent to the CRA," Rickey said. He asked the board to transfer parcels 2 and 3 to the city to allow their consolidation as a park.
Board member Hall moved to approve the resolution; board member Sudbury seconded. The board voted to carry the motion. The parcels are outside the CRA boundary, and Rickey noted that, in theory, the CRA cannot spend CRA money on properties outside its boundary.
The board recorded the vote and the motion carried. Staff said quick‑claim deeds and the necessary recordings would be completed before the end of the week.
The agency moved next to consideration of a consultant proposal; no public comments were offered during the meeting.
