Longtime residents press Magna council over cemetery upkeep and possible sale

Sharon Nichols, who identified herself as representing Pleasant Green Cemetery, later provided an operational update: she said the cemetery turned over 2025 burial records to the state, resolved a small number of reporting inconsistencies, handled four burials in January, sold one plot and installed two headstones. Sharon Nichols answered council questions and said she would continue efforts to correct records and maintain the grounds.
Council members and staff did not announce any sale or decision affecting cemetery ownership. Mayor (unnamed) and staff acknowledged the concerns, noted the cemetery sign and other work are not yet paid for, and said city staff would follow up with residents who provided contact information.
