The Weber County Commission on Feb. 17 approved a three‑year contract with an international accreditation organization to provide standards and support for the sheriff’s office to pursue law‑enforcement accreditation over the next 36 months.
Eli Johnson said the vendor will provide access to trademarked and copyrighted accreditation standards and services, akin to the ACA accreditation previously used for the jail. Staff identified funds for the contract by reallocating departmental budget lines.
Commissioners expressed support and the contract was approved. Staff will proceed with the accreditation process per the vendor’s timeline and report progress to the commission.
