Weber County creates Paramedic and Technical Rescue Committee to coordinate fire and rescue services

The Weber County Board of Commissioners voted Feb. 17 to adopt Resolution 08‑2026, establishing a Weber County Paramedic and Technical Rescue Committee intended to improve coordination among county fire agencies and guide expenditures for equipment, supplies and training.
Lisa Swartz introduced the resolution and said Chief Clark proposed the committee to give every fire chief and their designated representative input on county‑funded programs, equipment standards and training priorities. Chief Clark said existing subcommittees for paramedic services, heavy rescue and hazmat will remain in place, and the new committee will bridge those subcommittees and the commission by consolidating recommendations and providing a single point of advice to the county.
Commissioners expressed support for the idea and approved resolution 08‑2026 by roll call. The committee’s membership will include every county fire chief or a designee; staff said it will form subcommittees as needed and forward recommendations to the commission for funding or program changes.
