First reading approved for updates to Weber County parks and recreation fees

Weber County Parks & Recreation presented an annual review of fee schedules and requested approval of a first reading to amend the county fee ordinance for the department.
Brad (Bart) Cragan explained the department treats fee updates like an annual audit, removing fees for discontinued offerings (for example, an Ogden City‑run shooting simulator now a classroom offering) and adding new group campsite sites at North Fork and Memorial. He said partners that operate on county property also requested adjustments. Commissioners asked whether further changes would return at final approval; Cragan said only one item (Pine View) might require additional review.
The commission approved the first reading to allow staff to complete final drafting and move toward final adoption.
