Summary
The Service Committee advanced a Water Pollution Control Loan Fund agreement for the 16 North Separation Phase 1 wastewater project, authorized conveyance of two parcels to New York Development Partners, and approved cooperation with ODOT for a Granville Road multi-use path and bridge replacement (city share $460,636); all committee votes were unanimous.
The Newark Service Committee met after the Finance session and advanced three items to full council or for execution.
Committee members reviewed Resolution 26-10 to enter a Water Pollution Control Loan Fund agreement for planning, design and/or construction of the 16 North Separation Phase 1 wastewater project. Staff said an updated resolution was needed to confirm current council support; Motion by Hauser, second by Blind; passed 5-0.
Committee then considered Resolution 26-11 to convey two parcels (1107 and 1109 South 6th Street) to New York Development Partners as agent for industrial/commercial distribution and research. A resident asked about the cost of releasing the properties; Director Rhodes and committee members said the development partner will act as the city's agent on selling the properties. Motion by Cost, second by Blind; passed 5-0.
Finally, committee considered legislation cooperating with the Ohio Department of Transportation for a multi-use shared path and bridge replacement on Granville Road. Staff said the project is out to bid and the legislation is needed as ODOT requested the city's payment of its share by March 11. City staff stated, "Our city share is $460,636," and said previously borrowed construction funds will be used. Motion carried on a committee voice vote and will be forwarded as required.
